About Us
The Wessex Singers is a Chamber Choir of about 40 singers, founded by its musical director Christopher Dowie in 1979. This Wimborne choir is promoted by Wimborne Music Society and usually gives three main concerts a year, sometimes with Wimborne Minster Chamber Orchestra, as well as singing the occasional Minster service in the absence of the Minster Choir.
The choir regularly premieres new choral works, as well as performing from a wide repertoire of established works.

Entry is by simple audition and there are vacancies in all parts - we're a friendly bunch, and welcome new members!
We rehearse on Monday evenings, usually in St James Church, Holt, or St Michaels Church, Colehill, both just north of Wimborne, Dorset. If you wish to know more about the choir, or would like to arrange an audition, please email Christopher Dowie
